Having been involved in the construction industry since I could walk (my father was a project manager until he retired recently, so I spent many school holidays exploring building sites!), I started my professional career in 1998 as a site engineer for a major construction company, working on multi million pound projects.
I enjoyed this for several years, however, my passion was always for Architecture, and so in 2004 I made a career move I've never regretted. I moved away from the building sites and into the office as an Architectural Technologist with a local firm.
In 2008 I was was granted full membership of The Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists or CIAT for short.
In the back of my mind I always had a desire to start my own company and that desire came to fruition in 2012 when I founded Lacey Architectural Services.
I offer a full range of Architectural Services from initial design work right through to project management. While I specialise in residential work, I'm experienced across most sections of the industry, including the MOD, healthcare, commercial and education sectors."Accomplished Building Design, Efficient Professional Service"
The strap line of Lacey Architectural Services is
This is more than just an empty tag line though, it genuinely is the way I try to run my business. Good design, both aesthetically and functionally is very important but I believe that the level of service received by clients is every bit as important as design.
Historically the construction industry has been built on mistrust and is often adversarial in nature. This environment cannot and does not lead to the ultimate result. At Lacey Architectural Services, I foster good working relationships with both clients and fellow professionals, this, in turn leads to better results and better service for my clients, as well as making my job even more of a joy!
